A chilling video that has recently surfaced on social media, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the chief of the prohibited US-based organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), issues a stark warning to those planning to fly with Air India on November 19. Pannun, a figure under the scrutiny of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) since 2019, ominously declares that their lives would be at risk if they choose to travel on that particular day.
The video, which has sparked security concerns, urges Sikh individuals to avoid Air India on November 19, citing an anticipated global blockade. Pannun’s foreboding words echo a sense of urgency as he cautions, “On November 19, don’t travel by Air India or your life will be in danger.”
Adding an element of intrigue to his warning, Pannun claims that Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport will purportedly be closed on the same day. He goes a step further, suggesting a potential change in the airport’s name. The chosen date also aligns with the final match of the ongoing cricket World Cup, creating a puzzling intersection of events.
This isn’t the first time Pannun has grabbed headlines with his ominous messages. On October 10, he issued a warning to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, drawing parallels to the Israel-Palestine conflict and cautioning about a possible “reaction” in India. In a previous video message, he emphasized, “People enduring unlawful occupation from Punjab to Palestine will react. And violence breeds violence.”
Pannun, originally from Amritsar, has been a person of interest for the NIA since 2019. He faces accusations of actively promoting and orchestrating acts of terrorism, spreading fear, and instigating terror in Punjab and other regions of India through his threats and intimidation tactics. A special NIA court issued non-bailable warrants for Pannun’s arrest on February 3, 2021, designating him as a “Proclaimed Offender” (PO) on November 29 of the previous year.
As security concerns rise in the wake of Pannun’s latest threat against Air India passengers on November 19, authorities are undoubtedly on high alert. The intersection of political tension, global events, and the looming specter of terrorism adds a layer of complexity to this unfolding situation, leaving many to wonder what lies ahead for those who may unwittingly find themselves in the midst of this alarming scenario.
