DCP South West Rohit Meena detailed the immediate actions taken, which included the deployment of police personnel, ambulance services, Bomb Disposal Squads (BDS), and Bomb Disposal Teams (BDT) to the college premises. With student safety as the utmost priority, a swift evacuation ensued.

Despite thorough search efforts, including the utilization of bomb detection equipment, no suspicious items have been unearthed thus far, according to reports from ANI.

DCP Meena emphasized the seriousness with which the situation is being treated, stating, “Whosoever has made that call, we are investigating it.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident. Similar threats have plagued educational institutions in the recent past, underscoring the need for heightened vigilance and security measures.

Just days before the Ram Lal Anand College scare, Amity International School in Pushp Vihar received a bomb threat via email. Fortunately, local law enforcement and bomb detection squads found no evidence of danger.

In another alarming incident on February 2nd, Delhi Public School in RK Puram was targeted with a bomb threat via email, leading to a thorough evacuation and search operation. Once again, no suspicious items were discovered.

These incidents echo previous false alarms, including a hoax bomb threat at Lal Bahadur Shastri School in RK Puram in September 2023 and a similar incident at Delhi Public School in Mathura Road in May 2023.

The recent arrest of a 42-year-old man in Bengaluru highlights the grave consequences of such false threats. Vilas Bakade allegedly made a bomb threat to Akasa Air in an attempt to delay a flight for his wife. This incident underscores the need for swift action against perpetrators of such hoaxes.

Further illustrating the disruptive nature of bomb threats, a Kolkata-bound SpiceJet flight faced a significant delay on February 27th due to a threat message received by Delhi airport authorities. Similarly, on February 19th, Delhi Police apprehended a 20-year-old individual for making a hoax bomb threat at Indira Gandhi International Airport.

These incidents serve as sobering reminders of the importance of maintaining vigilance and implementing stringent security protocols to ensure the safety of individuals and communities. As investigations continue into the recent bomb threat at Ram Lal Anand College, authorities remain committed to identifying and holding accountable those responsible for such disruptions.
