Former President Donald Trump recently weighed in on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza, urging Israel to swiftly conclude its military campaign in the region. Trump expressed understanding for Israel’s response to the October 7 attack by Hamas, which resulted in significant casualties and captives. However, he emphasized the importance of bringing the conflict to an end, noting the toll it has taken on both sides.
With more than 32,000 Palestinians killed since the start of Israel’s bombardment nearly six months ago, Trump stressed the need for Israel to finalize its objectives. His comments come amid growing international pressure, including a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire, to which the United States abstained.

While Trump has been a vocal supporter of Israel, citing his decision to relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem and his administration’s involvement in brokering the 2020 Abraham Accords, he cautioned Israel about losing global support due to the prolonged conflict. He pointed out concerns raised within the US regarding Israel’s plans for further military action in Gaza.
Israel has maintained its stance of continuing the offensive until Hamas is neutralized and remaining captives are released, including a push into the city of Rafah, where many Palestinians have sought refuge. However, Trump’s remarks underscore the delicate balance between pursuing national security objectives and maintaining international relationships.
